Chivalry or Idiocy ?

Well I guess I AM  a 'seasoned' writer. That is, I can't write until something really thought provoking happens. Either that or I am extremely lazy.

And so it happened :D
But first, We'll talk about 'P-E-R-S-P-E-C-T-I-V-E'. Yeah, I did that to make it look important. Mind your own business.

Perspective, Some say the class (because 'Glass' is too mainstream :D) is half full, some say it's half empty. The former, are called teachers and the latter are US! Umm...that's all I had...Nevermind. So now that we're done with our crash course, let's get to the point, shall we?

THE THOUGHT PROVOKING EVENT! ( Ta dum dssh!)

I know you made that sound in your mind! Retards :P
Anyway, Here's what happened, in a nut shell. Walking home from college with a friend, which is kinda becoming a ritual now, I saw a frail, elderly guy in his mid 80s who needed some help to get down a flight of stairs. Seemed legit. Being a noble soul, I did help him. Respect was mutual. It was reciprocated with a gentle hug, a faint smile and blessings. To be frank, It made my day. Next, he offered us a handful of 'Shirdi ka Prasad' which I willingly took. The only thing that seemed out of place was that he then asked for some money to get home! He looked nothing like a vagabond in his kurta-pyjamas and a khaki jacket. But, the voice in my head was like, " Anything for the old guy! ". So, yeah...I gave him the money too.

NOTE that all this while, my friend did not say A SINGLE WORD! He just stood there and watched. I always thought he was the mature one. So there must've been reason behind his decision to not participate in the ongoing 'Chivalry or  Idiocy'  ( And he ingeniously slipped in the title into a sentence. Well played myself, Well played. )

Hence, it was time for,

C-C-CRITICAL ANALYSIS !!

The fact of the matter is, Old people cannot harm ANYTHING! I mean, why would they? They don't want to waste the little energy they have in trying to strangle someone! They'd risk a heart attack! Because I know that when I get old, I'm gonna sit on that rocking chair until my last breath. ( Hence, proved. I AM lazy).

Secondly, I am not a guy who would EVER give money to a beggar. I'd rather give it to someone who is doing something rather than sitting on his lazy ass and complaining about his sad , miserable life, like me. So No, I'm not a 'Charitable' person. I only gave him money, because he looked like he ACTUALLY  needed it!

My mom thinks I got mugged. But mums are like that I guess. -_-
My friends think I got mugged too. I'll find myself some new friends pretty soon.

Until then, Adios.

Everything happens for a reason.

Alright, So, the following post is by someone whose work I truly appreciate. A dedicated writer, an awesome human being. Thank You Priya, for taking the time to write this wonderful post for my blog. This sums up pretty much everything this blog is about. I’m sure life has something amazing planned for you ;D

Everything Happens for a reason

                                                                                                             By Priya Kharbanda

In class IX, I got separated from all my friends. I was all alone, in a class full of strangers. Okay, maybe not strangers. I’d known most of them since kindergarten, but only on a first name basis. They weren’t my ‘friends’. Just acquaintances.

I came home and cried the whole day. I hated God for doing this to me. I couldn’t believe HE could be so uncaring and harsh. I was a kid, really; and in my own words, ‘I wanted to die’. But my mom told me that it was going to be all right, and that everything happened for a reason. I discarded that piece of advice as typical-mom-wisdom-that-only-works-for-her-generation. I didn’t pay the slightest heed to her pravachan.

But, guess what? IXth was one of the best classes ever, for me. I made three amazing friends, whom I retained throughout high school, no matter how much the teachers or fate tried to separate us.
We’re still in touch, we talk on a regular basis, and we laugh and we gossip, and do all things we used to. We meet whenever possible, and support each other through it all.
I had a great almost-romance, with this really cute guy. It was a year filled with laughter, fights, issues, what not. And I had more fun then, than I’d ever had (till then).
And so, I started believing.

That everything, does in fact, happen for a reason.
Yes, there have been times when I’ve doubted this. Times when I’ve thought that the universe was being a pain-in-the-ass, and I cursed everyone and everything in the vicinity. But, of course, it turned out to lead to something wonderful-and if not that, then atleast something which was (painfully) good for me.

We fret about small, little things that go wrong with us; which do not co-incide with our expectation of the future. We start playing The Blame-Game, instead of understanding the truth. The truth, that everything is a part of a bigger plan. The Plan. The Plan for us all, by Destiny. We’re mere puppets, going about our life, thinking we’re the center of the universe, while it’s exactly the opposite. We’re just part of The Greater Plan.

It all happens for a reason. The reason may be anything, from a happier future, to an important lesson in life.

He broke your heart? Maybe he wasn’t The One.
You lost your job? Maybe you’ll get a better job, which suits your needs better.
You had a fight with your best friend? Maybe it’ll make your friendship stronger, and more honest; or maybe you’ll part ways. But it’ll be for the best.

Whatever happens, for whatever reason, we’ll all turn out fine. It’ll all be well in the end. Just remember one thing.

Don’t you worry, child.

Going AWOL from life

Don't we all wish that we could just take a break from our godforsaken lives. Like the character Charley from 'The Third Level', or like Sophie from 'Going Places'. If you don't ,I guess you haven't given your board exams yet.

So anyways, Surprisingly, I've started daydreaming ! A LOT ! As Sheldon Cooper would say, I'm aboard the 'Train of thoughts'. The tiniest little thing can distract me. Tranquilizers seemed like the best way out, but it isn't easy smuggling a bottle of morphine is it.

The truth is, we're all living in a parallel universe, a world of imagination, made up of 'what if' and 'I wish'. Wouldn't it be great to live your life all over again? You could undo all your mishaps and start over from the point where you hadn't made all the mistakes that you did. Seems like a great idea.

But after a point, we all have to realise that those mistakes were what made us the person we are. Those were destiny's way of telling us what not to do. Had it been a perfect 10/10 life, it would've been a pretty boring one. I mean think about it this way, all the tiny moments of happiness you come across are because of your misdoings in the past ! They're what changed the course of your life. Suppose you took a wrong turn in your life. No sweat ! If you know your destination, you're gonna reach it no matter what road you tread along. In fact the new, unforeseen path is gonna help you come across new people, it will bring out a part of you that you never knew existed. And just maybe, you might even find someone who'd guide you to your destination. So My philosophy in life is, don't
regret anything you do. Cuz in the end, it makes you who you are. :)

And by the way, its my B'day tomorrow ! I know that after 10 years I'd read this blog , and wish to be 17 again, so that i could un-write this post. Have fun everyone. Meet you on the other side. :)

' Jo bolta hai wohi hota hai ! :D '

First of all I want to thank everyone who appreciated my last post. You've been a wonderful audience.

Coming back to the topic, we're all familiar with this phrase right ? But have you ever realized how true this funny little line is. I mean, For example, you call someone hairy, and *poof* you turn into a furball ! This might not be an apt example but that's all I could come up with.

So anyways WOMEN ! what is their problem ! You hang out with them everyday, they'll be nice to you BUT if you refuse even once, They'll portray u as the most evillest man on earth ! I mean WHAT THE HELL ! You care about us, so do we. But do we really have to show it every second of our lives ? And then those tears, to send us deeper into the pit of remorse and self-hatred ! We need space too !

To all the guys, isn't it awkward when you see someone cry? I mean, you're supposed to comfort them, apologize etc. but that's what you're SUPPOSED to do. What you actually do is stand and stare and THINK what to do. At least that's what i do.

I always kept telling my friend that they're the 'friend-kind' and not the 'relationship-kind'. but only today did i realize ki saala "jo bolta hai wohi hota hai". :)

That girl from a land far far away . . .

We all have our own "What-the-hell-just-happened" moment. Mine, for instance, was an interesting one. One, worth sharing with the world.

FACEBOOK !! I'd describe it as a place where PEOPLE fall in love with people they haven't seen in their lives, and probably never will...not taking into consideration whether your "loved one" actually exists or not. :P

Well, even I had my little escapade into this world of fantasy. But first, let me tell you MY interpretation of that love. It happens when you start caring for someone to such an extent, that you forget the physical boundaries separating you from each other,(in my case, a 1,500km long one) and the fact that there is no possible hope of you guys meeting. Leave alone friendship !

How'd it happen? Well, one fine morning, as I logged in to that boring blue page, expecting some notifications ( you do that too okay ! ), I had a friend request instead. It wasn't something unusual, as I was a big fan of social gaming back then :P
So anyways, It was HERS ! No mutual friends, a slightly weird name, but that face ! A girl in a school uniform, just about my age(I was 15 back then) looking out the window.
Okay she WAS pretty ! :D
So the next thing I did was to check if its a fake account or not. So I looked through her albums, nothing out of the ordinary...just another pretty girl.

The next day, I had 9 notifications. GUESS WHAT ! She had liked all my profile pictures & everything that had my face on it ! So I decided to talk to her ! Through chat of course. We did talk...A LOT ! Everyday ! I found out she was from Pakistan. ( Al-Qaeda ??? ) She was an year younger to me & was really really polite % we shared everything( or so I believed).

So one day, I told her ! I TOLD HER THAT I LIKED HER ! She was really touched & happy about it but never really said that she did too. I guess it was because she had a more mature mind than mine so she she understood the prospects of life better than me. Nevertheless, our friendship grew deeper and deeper. But not for long...

It had been a month or so since I met...um...added her :P
She had posted some pics in a traditional dress and she seemed really REALLY beautiful. So I told her. Her reply was: "Thanks :') "  ODD ?
Cutting to the chase,
The next day, my inbox had a new message, from her, which read:
" Hi Mohit, thanks for being such a nice friend. Those pics were of my engagement and I'm getting married tomorrow...tc."
She had already deactivated her account.

Need I say more? My world was LITERALLY shattered ! I kept staring at my screen for another 10 minutes with my mouth wide open, on the verge of breaking down. And then I saw the world for what it was ! Nothing but a filthy, cruel place where no one had the right to dream ! I had this sick feeling, this realization...that we are not in control of our lives. That this "CIVILIzATION" is NOT civilized. Not civilized at all.
